Knight Skin, 10 plus years of experience as a paint protection film manufacturer

10+ Years Behind the Best PPF for Cars

Founded in Texas, USA, Knight Skin manufactures and distributes premium paint protection film to professional installers around the world. Every roll we ship is built on one idea: the best PPF for cars should disappear on the paint, and stay invisible for years.

Our films use a self-healing TPU top coat that closes light swirl marks and wash scratches with heat from the sun or warm water. Underneath, the film stays hydrophobic, UV resistant and anti-yellowing, so a white Porsche looks the same in year six as it did on day one. That is what separates a top PPF brand from a cheap clear bra.

With more than ten years in the industry, we supply film for everything from a new Tesla to a BMW M8, a Mercedes GLC or a full body wrap on a Land Rover Defender. If you love your car and want the best paint protection film you can put on it, start with a quote.

PPF Questions, Answered Fast

  • Short answers to the questions we get asked most, from cost to self-healing to how we compare with other brands

The best PPF for cars is a self-healing TPU film with a strong top coat and a long written warranty. Cheaper TPH and PVC films yellow and crack far sooner.

Knight Skin uses an aliphatic TPU base with a self-healing clear layer that resists staining, yellowing and hazing. When you compare brands, ask for the film type, the total thickness in mil, and the warranty term in writing.

A full front PPF kit typically costs between USD 1,200 and USD 2,500, and a full body wrap usually runs from USD 5,000 to USD 8,000.

Price depends on the size of the car, how complex the panels are, and how much paint correction is needed first. Pricing differs by country, so ask your nearest certified installer to quote your exact model.

They do different jobs. PPF is a thick urethane film that physically absorbs stone chips and scratches. Ceramic coating is a thin chemical layer that adds gloss and makes washing easier but will not stop a rock.

Most owners of luxury cars fit PPF first, then apply a coating on top of the film. You get the impact protection from the film and the slickness and water beading from the coating.

Yes, within limits. The self-healing top coat is roughly 13 microns thick, and light swirl marks and wash scratches close up with heat from the sun, warm water or a heat gun.

Anything deep enough to cut through that top layer will not heal. Self-healing is designed for the light marks that build up over years of washing, not for kerb rash or deep key scratches.

Knight Skin films carry warranties of 5, 7 and 10 years depending on the series, covering cracking, peeling, yellowing, hazing and bubbling.

Well maintained film on a garaged car often outlasts its warranty term. Wash with pH neutral products, avoid pressure washing close to the film edges, and register the warranty after installation.

Knight Skin has offices in Houston Texas, Downtown Dubai and Bangalore India, plus approved installers in a growing list of countries.

Send us your city and car model through the contact form and we will connect you with the nearest certified installer, along with an estimate for your vehicle.

Knight Skin competes with XPEL, STEK, SunTek and 3M on film thickness, self-healing speed and warranty length.

In practice the differences come down to top coat performance, how complete the pattern library is for your specific model, and the skill of the installer. Whichever brand you choose, ask for a written warranty and look at a finished car before you commit.
